Grief Support Groups
GRIEF – what it is and what it isn’t: grief IS a journey that begins when you experience a significant loss (significant is defined by the person). The loss may be the loss of a person, pet, job, friendship, health or many other changes in our lives that carry a variety of emotions. Grief is NOT just sadness after a loss that eventually goes away. Grief is both a time of sadness and a journey of multi-faceted emotions, thoughts, and spiritual turmoil. A grief support group helps you understand the journey you are on – the emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical challenges – and offers ways to navigate and live with the ups and downs of grief.
Grief is a journey that we don’t ask to take, and one that does not end. But grief can get better with time. In grief support groups, stories are shared, coping strategies are discussed, and healing can take place. Come and share, come and learn, come and heal. Our grief support groups are facilitated by Rev. Dr. Debbie Cerra, a grief specialist with decades of experience walking along side people in their grief. Two options are available meeting the first and third Thursdays: in-person 10 – 11 am and on Zoom 6:30 – 7:30 pm.
