LOGOS
Each Thursday evening children and adults gather for dinner, Bible study, a worship skill, and recreation time. The only rule of LOGOS is “Everyone is to treat everyone else as a child of God.” Much of the evening is broken up by grade, and children create great friendships through the ministry. LOGOS is open to children from Kindergarten thru 12th grade.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Every Sunday morning during worship children gather in the lower level of the building in a loving environment that supports the teachings of Jesus Christ through biblical reading, crafts, drama, music, and worship. Classes are divided by age group and are offered at the 9:25 and 11:05 services. There are classes for preschool up to 12th grade, including a class for children with special needs (11:05).
Wesbsite Kids Pictures (2)NURSERY
The nursery is open to children from birth – 36 months old. The space is kept clean, and provides children with a variety of educational and engaging activities. We provide a pager system to alert parents/families of any needs the child may have while in our care.

This amazing ministry provides respite for two-and-a-half hours once a month on Friday nights for families to have free time while trained volunteers care for their child with special needs.
A weekly Sunday School class is also available at 11:05 am.

VBS
Vacation Bible School occurs every summer for one week and engages children in a variety of ways with the Word of God. There are skits, games, snacks, memory verses, music and crafts which all work around an incorporated theme for the week.

CHILDREN’S MUSIC
Children learn how to sing as a member of a choir and are a part of leading worship. Groups rehearse Thursday evenings, and then get a chance to sing during the 9:25 worship service once a month.
The safety and well-being of your children is our first priority. We continually revise our supervisory guidelines to make sure that all adults and volunteers working with the children at SUMC are trained and have received the appropriate background checks. A copy of our Safe Sanctuary Guidelines – with which all volunteers at SUMC receive training – is available here.
